Marketing cycle review  /  Prepared by Digital Animal
Site audit run 5 August 2026

A Website Is Not a Brochure. It Is the Hub of the Cycle.

Search, ads, social, capture, follow-up, and measurement are one connected loop. Every one of them routes through the website. Today three are switched off entirely, and the other three reach a single page.

Hope Is Not a Strategy for Capital. It Is Not One for Marketing Either.

Today: the loop is broken at every point except the hub

Built out: every channel routes through the site and reports back

The six stages

Each One Feeds the Next.Break One and the Loop Stops Turning.

This is not six separate campaigns. It is one cycle. A visitor found by search becomes a tracked audience for ads, a follower of published insight, a captured contact, a nurtured lead, and a measured result that tells us where to spend next.

What we found

We Checked the Live Site. Here Is Everything That Needs to Change.

This is a scan of xcel-partners.com run on 5 August 2026, not an estimate. Every line below was tested directly against the live pages. The right hand column is written for someone who does not work in marketing, because the point is what each item costs, not what it is called.

What we checked
Result
Why you need it, and what skipping it costs
Measurement
Google Analytics 4
Not installed
You cannot tell which pages bring in work and which do nothing. Every decision about where to spend is a guess, and guesses get paid for at full price.
Google Tag Manager
Not installed
Without it, every future tracking change needs a developer booked and billed. With it, the same change takes minutes and costs nothing.
Google Search Console
Not verified
You cannot see which searches your site already shows up for. It is a free tool and it is currently sitting unused.
Advertising
Google Ads conversion tag
Not installed
Running ads without this means paying for clicks and never knowing which ones became clients. You would keep funding the half that does not work, indefinitely.
LinkedIn Insight Tag
Not installed
LinkedIn is where your buyers are. Without the tag you cannot advertise to people who already visited, and that is the cheapest audience you will ever have.
Meta Pixel
Not installed
Same idea. Every visitor who leaves untracked has to be paid for at full price a second time.
Capture
Contact page form
No fields present
The contact page cannot collect a name. Anyone researching after hours leaves with no way to reach you and no way for you to follow up.
Go High Level across the site
One page only
You already pay for this CRM every month. It is connected to one page, so most of what you are paying for sits idle.
Call tracking number
Not in use
Calls arrive with no source attached. You cannot tell whether an inquiry came from search, a referral, or a business card, so you cannot repeat it.
Findability, search and AI
Heading structure, H1 and H2
Not established
Almost every line on the site is an H2, including the copyright notice. Google reads that as a page with no main point, so it ranks for nothing in particular. This costs nothing to fix and everything else depends on it.
Advisory schema markup
Defaults only
The markup that tells Google you are a Houston advisory firm with named experts is missing. It is the reason competitors appear in map results and knowledge panels and XCEL does not.
Bylines and author pages
None
AI tools quote named experts at named firms. With no author on any article, XCEL cannot be quoted, so buyers researching through AI never encounter the name.
FAQ content
None
Question and answer format is what AI tools pull answers from. Nothing on the site is written in that shape, so none of it can be surfaced.
Internal linking
Flat blog
Articles do not link to the services they support. The effort of writing them adds nothing to the pages that actually generate inquiries.
Local presence
Address consistency
Two in circulation
Google splits your local ranking between the two and can suppress both. A competitor with one consistent address outranks you in Houston searches by default.
Address published on the site
Not in the page text
There is a map embed but no address in the page itself. Google has nothing to anchor a Houston result to, so the local searches go to someone else.
Page quality
Image filenames and alt text
Not set
The logo is saved under a WhatsApp screenshot filename and the Project Controls page carries an image named after a Florida pool. Free image search traffic is left on the table, and the detail undercuts a senior positioning in front of the exact people who notice.
Duplicate blocks across pages
On every page
The same three sections repeat on the home page, services, blog, and all eight service pages. Google cannot tell which one to rank, so they compete against each other instead of covering eight different searches.
Copy errors on main pages
Several
Phrases like stands upto scrutiny and metrics that matters most sit on the homepage. Your buyers audit documents for a living. A typo costs credibility before a call is ever booked.
Page speed and build
Page builder
Pages carry more weight than they need to. Speed is a direct Google ranking input and a direct cause of drop-off on mobile, where a real share of executive traffic lands.

Where the value leaks

The Work Is Already Being Done.It Is Just Not Being Captured.

XCEL is publishing articles, taking calls, and running a CRM subscription. The gap is not effort. It is that none of it is wired together, so none of it compounds.

Every visitor arrives and leaves anonymous

With no analytics and no pixels, a visitor who reads three service pages and does not call is unrecoverable. Six months of traffic has built an audience of zero.

Every article earns nothing back

Six articles are live with no byline, no author entity, no topic cluster, and no link back to the service page each one supports. The effort is spent and the authority does not accrue.

Every phone call is untraceable to a source

Calls come in through a single number with no call tracking and no analytics. There is no way to answer the question of what actually generated the inquiry.

Ads cannot responsibly be switched on

Without conversion tracking, paid spend is unmeasurable. Running ads against this site today would mean spending without knowing what converted, which is the exact discipline XCEL sells against.

LinkedIn and the website

LinkedIn Is Where They Find You.The Site Is Where You Keep Them.

LinkedIn is rented ground. A post reaches people for roughly forty eight hours and then it is gone, and LinkedIn keeps the audience data, not XCEL. The only part of that attention XCEL gets to keep is whatever the website captured while it lasted.

Every post sends people to look you up. What they find is the site.

Today

Follow one reader through the current setup

Step 1

Digital Animal posts on LinkedIn

Written for XCEL and bylined to Dan. Real expertise, well received.

Step 2

A VP at a developer reads it

Interested. Not ready to pick up a phone.

Step 3

They look XCEL up

The post did its job. Now they check the firm.

Step 4

They land on the home page

No page matching the topic they just read about. No byline connecting the post to a person.

Dead end

Nobody ever knows they came

No pixel, no form, no analytics. The interest existed for ninety seconds and left no record.

Once built

The same reader, once the site is wired

Step 1

Digital Animal posts on LinkedIn

Same post, now linked to the bylined article it came from.

Step 2

A VP at a developer reads it

Interested. Not ready to pick up a phone.

Step 3

They look XCEL up

They land on the article, then the service page it supports.

Step 4

They are tracked and offered a way in

The Insight Tag adds them to an audience XCEL owns. A form and a booking link sit on the page.

Loop closes

You can reach them again, and you know why

They enter Go High Level with the source attached. You retarget them on LinkedIn for a fraction of cold reach, and you know which post did it.

The post is temporary. The audience does not have to be.

A tracking tag turns forty eight hours of attention into an audience XCEL can reach again next month, next quarter, and next year, at will.

Retargeting costs a fraction of cold reach.

Advertising to people who already read a post and visited the site is the cheapest audience available on LinkedIn. Without the tag, that audience does not exist and every impression is bought at full price.

You find out which topics actually sell.

With attribution in place, you can see which post produced an inquiry and write more of those. Without it, posting is done on instinct and the results stay invisible.

Sequence

The Order MattersMore Than the Spend.

Each stage only works once the one before it is in place. Switching on ads before measurement is how budget disappears without a lesson attached.

1

Instrument

Analytics, tag manager, Search Console, call tracking, and Go High Level wired across every page. Nothing else starts until we can see.

If you skip itSkip it and everything after is unmeasurable. You would be spending without a way to know what worked.Week 1
2

Rebuild the hub

Site structure, schema, entity signal, capture on every page, and a real contact form. The hub has to hold before traffic is pointed at it.

If you skip itSkip it and traffic arrives at a page that cannot capture it. You pay to bring people to a dead end.Weeks 2 to 4
3

Earn the traffic

SEO and AEO. Pillar and cluster content, bylines under Dan's name, FAQ layer, Houston local presence.

If you skip itSkip it and you rent every visitor through ads forever instead of owning a channel that keeps working after the spend stops.Weeks 5 to 12
4

Amplify

LinkedIn and paid search against a warm retargeting pool, measured end to end, scaled only on what the data supports.

If you skip itSkip it and growth is capped at whatever search alone delivers. This is the accelerator, not the foundation.Month 4 onward
